“People who care about animals tend to care about people. They don’t care about animals to the exclusion of people. Caring is not a finite resource and, even more than that, it’s like a muscle: the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets.”

What is an intake meeting? Why is it necessary?
Answer: We book an intake meeting at least 15 days before the service date in order to meet you as well as the animals. It is important for the animals to meet, observe and learn our scent with their owner present to prevent stress when we enter the home later. It allows the Kiraberi Pet Care staff to be shown in person the routine that the animals go through in a day to prevent any stress and/or confusion for both the staff and animals.

What happens at the intake meeting?
Answer: The intake meeting lasts for approximately 1 hour. We will ask a number of questions about you and your animals. We will then ask you to give us a tour of the house and the animals belongings as well as a summary of the animals routine. We provide a service agreement that must be signed before the service date takes place.

What is a Disclosure Penalty?
Answer: It is KPC policy to ensure the safety and care of all animals within a home. Whether we have been given tasks to care for said pets or not, KPC employees will check on all animals on your property. Therefore you will be charged accordingly based on every pet that lives in your home.
In the event of an emergency, KPC must have adequate info of every pet on your property in order to ensure proper care.
Example 1: I am hired to care for your dog but there is a cat in the house. I do not need to do anything with said cat but I notice they are vomiting blood - It is my responsibility to seek medical care for this cat. I need appropriate information on this cat.
Example 2: In the event of a house fire. KPC will take reasonable measures to ensure all animals are removed from the home. If you do not tell us that there is an additional animal present, they will not be removed in the event of a catastrophe and will be put at great risk of injury or death.
With that being said, if you choose to withhold information regarding a pet in or on your property, prior to receiving an estimate you will be charged a disclosure penalty of $75.00
