Our Story
Kiraberi = kee-ra-bear-ee
KPC = Kiraberi Pet Care

Welcome!
Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Richelle,
Owner & Operator of Kiraberi Pet Care.
The story of KPC starts in August of 2017 when my mother who worked as an RVT (registered vet tech) for over 15 years, created this business.
I began homeschooling in 2016. Therefore I had the opportunity to watch the idea of KPC come to life. As the business progressed,
I took on an assistant-like position under my mother.
Kim ran KPC from 2017 - 2021.
The pandemic made an unfortunate impact on KPC along with most small business owners.
This led Kim to decide to get back into a veterinary clinic & retire from Kiraberi Pet Care.
Due to my involvement, we sat down to discuss next steps.
I would be 18 shortly. I had explored my options and interests in law enforcement, psychology,
interior design & human medicine, amongst other subjects. I had worked and/or volunteered in a variety of settings.
At this point, I had lingering questions; Did I want to go to college/university? Did I want to continue working in other fields? Did I want to take over KPC as the owner?
After careful consideration I knew that I was not ready to give up KPC, but… I did not have enough clients to stay afloat full time.
I continued working retail throughout 2022 while managing KPC on the side.
In May of 2023 I was laid off from my job.
With the encouragement & support from my friends & family I decided to dive into Kiraberi Pet Care full time. I have been owner & operator of KPC since 2022 and have gained lovely clients, experiences and goals for the future.
As of May of 2025 Kim, Alex & I are working to grow KPC to its full potential.
Throughout the years, acting as Kim's assistant I had gained sufficient experience, knowledge & passion for the business to become the owner.
I've had the privilege of meeting and working with a diverse ensemble of individuals that each have their own theories, backgrounds, expertise and experiences. In doing so, I have constructed my own strategies, experiences, safety precautions and tactics for handling animals over the years. I pride myself on having an open mind towards new ideas that come with the evolving pet care industry.
I have handled and/or trained horses and other livestock, dogs, cats, birds, rodents and reptiles.
Having been raised by a veterinary technician as well as my personal interest in medicine and psychology, I approach the field with a unique intuition. I am eager to learn and work to expand my knowledge of all animals on a regular basis, through books, online courses & mentors/seminars.
I believe communication and transparency are very important in this line of work. I strive to approach each opportunity with a clear, non-judgemental & optimistic mindset.
For everyone's safety and comfort there needs to be a clear exchange of information. In order for our services to be a helpful and positive experience there needs to be a certain level of chemistry between every party involved.
We are continuously accepting new clientele and expanding our services throughout
Lanark County & Surrounding Areas.
